Catching My Breath

So here I am, sitting on my porch with the new laptop on my lap. This is enjoyable; sitting here, looking at the view straightaway and having a cup of java, (I am out of wine.) I am not in my bedroom/office plunking this post out. The evening is quiet, calm and not too cold. I must say, typing is a bit different and I am learning how to not have the heel of my hand hit the wrong buttons. I guess these last two years have been a continuous program of learning new things. I guess that's what keeps us going, right? I really dig this mouse to touch screen mechanism immensely. I still have much to learn as I was used to operating my lil' ole' desktop pc.  Now I have three devices to manipulate...the challenging desktop, the new laptop and my new cell phone that acts as a computer if needed. Maybe I will become too connected...smile here.  I have not talked about this circumstance yet, but, the job I applied for is with the county Work Source office here in Oly...

Bust A Move

On my rushing out of the door yesterday morning before work, I grabbed my coffee, purse, work files and a few CD's from a stack on my counter. I trotted up the stairs and fumbled with the car door key and lock...yes...my hands were full...and no...I don't have an electronic door opener anymore. The classic pop songs from Earth Wind and Fire, James Taylor, Carole Carpenter, John Melloncamp, Neil Diamond and many many others filled the car. It was quite amusing to listen to the songs and...yes... I did bop my shoulders back and forth a bit. During this drive, I kept thinking about my co workers...Bobbi is about 47, Brian and Kim are about 55, me-52 and then Don...

Inkling

This is the on line, Merriam's Dictionary meaning for inkling: a slight indication or suggestion : hint , clue , a slight knowledge or vague notion. I am wagering a guess that my blogger friends knew what this word meant before I posted it. I bet you even used the word during some conversations. Inklings...I am having me some of those today. Not a coffee pot full, not a glassful, just a cupful. Why would I have such inklings of one nature or another today? I can pinpoint this quite well, actually.  This morning, instead of heading straight to work, I was asked to go back to my friend's house to feed her two Pugs their breakfast. Ms. Doctor never made it home last night, and had driven another one of our friends to a distant town, where THAT friend's son was in the ER, unexpectedly, of course. She would not be back until much later this afternoon, so, of course I obliged and drove the 22 miles to her house to feed the dogs. On my drive there, at 7:09 AM, I was paged by ...
