Pane of Pain
He's back! The x is in the area. He landed at the Portland airport a couple of nights ago, closer to "her" than Seattle. Guess he left his truck and camper in AZ to fly back to our little area for the holidays. Crap! In viewing his calendar, he only has one booking in Eastern WA in mid January. Nothing else booked at this time other than his webinars which he presents while sitting on his butt in his camper. So lord knows how long he'll be around.
I am concerned we may cross paths at some point as my friend (and his) invited me to a "Box Lunch" the day after Christmas. It is a party where everyone attending brings their Christmas dinner leftovers, and a buffet of the odds and ends is laid out. Of course, it is BYOB and it looks like fun. My friend has hosted these before, but the x never wanted to attend, so we didn't. He will likely take every opportunity to brag about his travels of OR, CA, and AZ. He still claims on his bios, that he is an international speaker. WTF? He's never left the country! I was thinking of joining the party, but not so sure now, in case the x may be attending. I have no way to know for sure. It would be very difficult if he were there, especially if he brought her in tow like he did at the Oysterfest, in October. Luckily I was leaving that event as they walked in. (frown here)
Not only this party, but there are a few others being hosted by some friends in the next week or so, between Christmas and New Years, of course. Not sure my eyes would stay dry during a happenstance meeting, and not sure I could maintain class and dignity. I have things I'd like to say to the rat bastard. (apology to my readers here.)
My last post said I was healing, didn't it? I am, but I don't want to cross paths with him yet. But I also don't want to NOT attend functions "in case" he's there.
Chances are he won't make a two hour drive for these parties. He's probably staying with her in Portland and would rather occupy his time with her.
So to my blogger friends, if you want to know who the hell I'm talking about, he has a dozen sites and links to himself and his new found business. I will post his name for a short period if you care to peek at any of them, but then I will delete his name.

I don't envy your dilemma though, trying to move on but keep running into him. Maybe you should pray that he gets busier, then he would leave and stay away. Continue to go out and have fun though, show him what he's missing by screwing things up.
