Pigeon Poop:Pile #3
After my friend Mark had been in ICU for a few days, I happened to be on line chatting with my dear, friend, Jean. The gal who was hired in my position as supervisor, hence my resignation. I learned through our conversation, her husband had been admitted to the hospital, on the other side of town, from Mark. He was admitted for the EXACT, same condition: a perforated lung due to the bursting of an air bubble, from inside. Of course, Mark has emphyzema, and Jean's husband has weakened lungs, as well. His stay and recovery is one week ahead of Mark's. Interesting to see a 60 year old and a 70 year old with the same condition. Jean's husband, is the 70 year old and is doing well. Rehab placement is pending for him...within a day or two. (breathe relief, here.)
Mark has had the respirator pulled out now, and close monitering of his breathing is occuring. It has been a couple of days since I visited. It is on my list of tasks to do. Updates are he is hanging in there and they are seeing slight improvements.
I attended a going away party for some friends of mine, near my ole' town. The party wasn't hosted due to a relocation, resigning from a job, or anything of that nature. My friend, a 47 year old Officer in the Reserves, was called upon to be deployed to Afghanistan. He leaves July 28th. His wife will continue to operate their insurance business, and his two sons shall help, "carry on." When I visited with my friend and asked him if he was shocked for the news of deployment, he said, "No, this is what I have been trained to do." He was a Luitenant in the Air Force, and he was recommissioned in 2007, from the Reserves. He chose to do this if requested. His wife has a positive outlook on it as well. Though, her nerves were near the skin's surface when I saw her.
Well, there is the last of the pigeon poop splattering our paths...for now...til the next flock of "life's little birds", flies overhead, and leaves their droppings for us to skip around. Appears that blogger is having some issues tonight with spacing posts, grammar checks, etc....one more little tird, I guess.
