Shining in Seattle

The weather has turned very cold in the breezes that sweep along the landscapes here in Washington. The rain has come in it's natural abundance for this time of year. We did have a mild, sunny summer which is already missed by those of us who truly appreciated it. No need to fret, the climatic changes are out of our hands and bestowed upon us by forces far greater.
I am in Seattle with my son and have been here for four days. Despite his working during the days, I have helped him with a reorganization of his office, which put a broad smile on his face when he first walked in to see it's transformation. Big hugs followed. I have been applying for jobs while here, during his daily absences to his job sites. We have enjoyed dinner together each night and the first night, we teamed up to make a wonderful, baked Cuban chicken based with a delightful cilantro sauce, developed by him. Veggies and potatoes aligned the platter before our indulgence. I made a good ole meatloaf last night. Funny how my kids always enjoyed my meatloaf during their upbringing. Tonight we will tackle the computer projects which is my original purpose for coming here.
I finished my William Faulkner book, "Light in August". I will not rush to read another of his novels at this time, despite having two more and acknowledging his Pulitzer Prize winnings for two of them. It was a challenge to comprehend his script and meanings, and introductions of characters into the plot at a random pace. It had great meaning all in all, but...Brian gave me a book to read by an Italian author. It is a drama/love story type of a book and I devoured it in a day. Lovely, deep, meaningful novel.
The sun is shining here in Seattle making grave attempts to warm the nippy air. The buildings look pretty with old charm and stature, in this neighborhood. I am enjoying the time with my son and was pleased my youngest son and his girlfriend were here Sunday for a visit too. We all watched the Seahawks together and I could not even tell you the last time that happened. Lovely...just lovely...(smile here).

It's good to get together. I went to my son's for an election party and stayed on to watch all the commentary.
My son and daughter are like minded politically. Everyone else in the family is Republican.

So glad to hear that you visited with your son, bill. It is nice to be able to take advantage of these gathering times when you can.
